Titanium grade 7 has excellent welding and manufacturing properties. In addition, the physical and mechanical properties of Grade 7 can be compared with those of Grade 2. The only difference is that between 0.12% and 0.25% palladium has been added to Grade 7. (UNS R52400/3.7235)

The best corrosion resistance of all titanium alloys
Did you know that titanium Grade 7 has the best corrosion resistance of all titanium alloys? Titanium normally has good corrosion resistance, thanks to the formation of a tenaciously adhering oxide film on the surface. This invisible layer is immediately reformed following damage, thus keeping the surface resistant to corrosive damage in sea water and all natural environments. The addition of palladium to titanium Grade 7 significantly improves its corrosion resistance – also against acids – thereby making it more corrosion-resistant than Grade 2.
