Do you want to be assured of the reliable delivery of your high-performance metals? With fluctuations in transport, price, and delivery time, this is not a given. As a supplier of special metals like Titanium, Tungsten, and Nickel alloys (e.g., Inconel), Metel offers its customers a solution. For each metal group, Metel has been collaborating with a specialized factory for many years, and this, combined with call-off contracts for customers, guarantees the delivery of high-performance metals. The origin of all our metals is, of course, conflict-free and comes with all the necessary documentation.

Availability and Delivery of Special Metals

The availability of metals is a crucial factor for customers preparing forfor example, a series production. They need to ensure a certain level of delivery reliability to the OEM and therefore want to secure the flow of materials. Additionally, there are requirements regarding origin and documentation. Metel often works with call-off contracts for these types of clients, which prevents price fluctuations and downtime.

“Recently, I spoke with a European trading partner who told me that the delivery times for certain metals were increasing from 12 to even 18 months,” says Nick Kesteloo, account manager at Metel. “Fortunately, we have ensured quick delivery through close collaboration.”with our factories. They can scale up production, and we receive priority if needed, ensuring our customers have access to the metals they require.” Metel also consistently maintains a significant stock of special metals, such as Titanium. Customers appreciate this, leading Metel to currently construct a new facility to further expand this inventory. This development will enable us to serve our European customers even faster in the near future—the facility is scheduled for completion in January 2023.

Documentation on the origin of metals

Additionally, Metel’s publicly traded clients haverelated to legislation concerning the origin of Tungsten, Molybdenum, Tantalum, and Niobium, among others. This legislation was enacted to prevent the use of so-called conflict metals in smelters or industrial processes, aiming to stop the exploitation of miners and local communities. “All metals and components supplied by Metel comply with all laws and regulations and are delivered with an EN10204/3.1 material certificate. This is a certificate issued by the factory, which tests the mechanical and chemical values of the respective batch.”

Network of Factories Ensures Supply of Exotic Metals

“Metel’s network consists of a select number of factories with which we have been doing business for years. For each metal group (such as Tungsten or Tantalum), we have one dedicated factory, ensuring we can always supply. These factories specialize in their respective metal groups and possess not only raw production capacity but also specialized knowledge and processing technology,” says Kesteloo. “Often, the factory complements Metel’s expertise, and together we provide solutions to even the most specialized metallurgical questions. This also applies to the processing of metals, which is a craft in itself. The starting point is often the information that Metel offers through its website, such as datasheets with mechanical properties.”chemical and physical properties of a specific alloy. In this way, we also advise customers in the field of processing or even completely take over the production of certain components (in special metals), such as Tungsten, for example. Metel supplies special metals worldwide to companies active in demanding markets such as semiconductors, medical, and petrochemicals. Through, for example, call-off contracts, our customer—suppliers and OEM—ensures the availability and a consistent quality of the desired metals. Do you want to know more about Metel’s services?
