Inconel® Alloy HX

Inconel® Alloy HX / 2.4665 / UNS N06002

Inconel® Alloy HX is a nickel-iron-chromium-molybdenum alloy known for its excellent strength and oxidation resistance at very high temperatures, up to approximately 1200°C. The addition of molybdenum significantly contributes to the mechanical strength and structural integrity of this alloy in thermally extreme applications.

Thanks to its heat and oxidation resistance, Inconel® HX is ideally suited for demanding industrial processes and applications with prolonged exposure to high temperatures.

Properties of Inconel® Alloy HX

Inconel® HX offers an ideal combination of high-temperature strength, creep resistance, and oxidation resistance, while maintaining mechanical stability up to approximately 1200°C. The alloy is designed for structural applications in extreme heat, where the microstructure and material properties need to be preserved.

The molybdenum in the composition enhances tensile strength and resistance to localized corrosion, while chromium contributes to oxidation resistance. Inconel® HX is also well-suited for welding and processing, making it widely applicable in heat treatment and energy engineering.

Due to its high resistance to thermal shock and prolonged heat exposure, Inconel® HX is a reliable alloy for demanding industrial environments.

Applications of Inconel® Alloy HX

Inconel® Alloy HX is used in sectors where structural performance at extreme heat is required. Examples of applications include:

  • Gas turbines and combustion systems

  • Industrial furnaces and furnace linings

  • Heat-treating equipment

  • Nuclear engineering and power plants

Due to its high resistance to oxidation and thermal stress, Inconel® HX is a widely used alloy in aerospace, energy, and processing industries.

Inconel® Alloy HX is the choice for applications where structural reliability and oxidation resistance are pushed to the extreme.
