They find their way to industries such as semiconductor, medical, petrochemical, and aerospace. JOB DESCRIPTION
You are the missing link that will help our fast-growing company grow even further. You will work in a beautiful and newly delivered building. You work directly with our small and decisive team, consisting of the director/owner, the manager, and 2 employees. With us, you won’t find hierarchical nonsense; sociability is highly valued here. Every day we build great successes together. You will receive the responsibility and all the space to develop yourself. Of course, we don’t expect you to know everything yet; we will teach you all the ins and outs, step by step. In no time, you will be able to call yourself a specialist in high-performance metals. WHAT DOES A DAY AT METEL LOOK LIKE?
You start between 08:00 and 09:00, with a nice cup of freshly ground coffee (we love good coffee). There are requests from existing customers, but requests also come in via the website from existing and new customers. We discuss these requests so that you can forward them to the various factories we work with. After that, you prepare the quotation, which we initially go through together in detail. When it is completely correct, it can be sent and followed up.
We believe in a personal approach, so contacting the (potential) customer is encouraged. When the order is approved, everything must be ordered, confirmed, and scheduled. You ensure the correct delivery time and inform our customers about the progress. During the joint lunch, we can relax a bit and then be sharp again to pick up the work. You have a good idea of how we can improve our processes, and we like to hear that because there is always room for higher performance.
The phone rings, a customer emails with a question about the correct application of one of our metals. Together with the team, we formulate the answer. The account manager calls to say that a nice new order is coming in; together with him, you discuss the terms and enter the order. It’s Friday afternoon, a nice bottle is taken from the wine fridge. There is something to celebrate; your first week is over!
YOUR PROFILE
- You have HBO (higher professional education) working and thinking level commercially.
- You have proven experience in a commercial role.
- You are interested in special metals and able to understand and communicate technical information.
- You have excellent communication skills in Dutch and English, both spoken and written. Knowledge of German would be a nice bonus.
- You are commercial, result-oriented, and have strong analytical skills.
- You are a team player but can also work independently and take initiative. Experience in international trade and familiarity with the mentioned industries is not a must.
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Requesting and preparing quotations and managing existing customer relationships and expanding the customer base.
- Preparing and following up on quotations, contracts, and sales orders.
- Coordinating internal processes related to order handling, delivery, and invoicing.
- Collaborating with the technical and commercial team to understand customer questions and needs and offer solutions.
- Having lots of fun at work and laughing a lot with your colleagues!
