Nickel 270

Nickel 200 / 201 / 2.4060 – 2.4061 – 2.4066 – 2.4068 / UNS N02200 – N02201

Nickel 200 and Nickel 201 are commercially pure nickel alloys with a nickel content of approximately 99.6%. They combine excellent mechanical properties with good corrosion resistance, and also offer high thermal, electrical, and magnetic conductivity.

The difference between the two lies in the carbon content: Nickel 201 has a lower carbon percentage, making it more resistant to intergranular corrosion at higher temperatures.

Properties of Nickel 200 / 201

The Nickel 200/201 alloys are highly suitable for applications where chemical purity, cleanliness, and conductivity are essential. These materials offer high resistance to a wide range of chemicals, including alkalis, acids, and neutral salts.

Thanks to their good ductility and toughness, both alloys are easy to form and weld. Nickel 200 is primarily used at low to moderate temperatures, while Nickel 201 is preferred at higher temperatures due to its lower tendency for graphite formation.

Both grades maintain their strength and dimensional stability in cryogenic environments, enhancing their applicability across various sectors.

Applications of Nickel 200 / 201

Nickel 200/201 is widely used in industries where purity, corrosion resistance, and conductivity are crucial. Examples of applications include:

  • Food industry, for the production and processing of synthetic fibers

  • Storage and processing of alkalis and chemicals

  • Food processing equipment

  • Production of synthetic fibers

  • Pipelines, tanks, valves, and heat exchangers in the chemical sector

Due to their versatile physical and chemical properties, Nickel 200 and 201 are indispensable materials for process equipment where cleanliness and reliability are of great importance.

Nickel 200/201 is the ideal choice for applications where purity, chemical resistance, and technical performance must go hand in hand.
