Tungsten 99.95%, also known as pure tungsten, is the commercially pure form of Tungsten with a minimum purity of 99.95 percent. The material is produced by pressing and sintering tungsten powder, followed by processing into wire, rod, or plate.

Pure tungsten is distinguished by the highest melting point of all metals and excellent dimensional stability at extreme temperatures, making it indispensable where no other metal can withstand the specified temperature requirements.

Properties of Tungsten 99.95%

With a melting point of over 3400 degrees Celsius, pure Wolfram retains its shape and strength under conditions where most other materials would have already melted. The density of approximately 19.3 g/cmb3 also provides excellent shielding against radiation.

One point of attention is the limited ductility at room temperature, making the material prone to brittle behavior. Electrically and thermally, pure Wolfram conducts well, and it is resistant to oxidation at high temperatures as long as it is not exposed to open air for prolonged periods.

Applications of Tungsten 99.95%

Pure Wolfram is widely used in the lighting industry as a filament and in electron tubes, where the high melting point and low vapor pressure are essential. In vacuum oven applications, the material is used for heating elements that must withstand extreme temperatures.

In the electronics industry, pure Wolfram is used for electrodes and probe pins, while the high density also makes the material suitable for radiation shielding.
