Tungsten Rhenium W-25Re

Tungsten Rhenium W-25Re contains 25 weight percent rhenium and belongs to the higher alloyed variants within the W-Re series. This higher rhenium content results in a significant improvement in ductility compared to the low-alloyed variants.

This combination of temperature resistance and improved deformability makes W-25Re suitable for more complex forming processes.

Properties of Wolfram Rhenium W-25Re

W-25Re has a density of approximately 19.8 g/cm³ and a melting point slightly lower than that of pure Wolfram, but still well above 3000 degrees Celsius. After recrystallization, the material achieves a significantly higher elongation than the low-alloyed variants.

The Alloy maintains an excellent thermo-electric response, making it suitable for precision measurements at high temperatures.

Applications of Wolfram Rhenium W-25Re

W-25Re is most commonly used in thermocouple wire, as a counterpart to W-3Re or W-5Re in high-temperature measurement systems. Additionally, the Alloy is used in aerospace components and medical applications.

W-25Re is also applied in nuclear reactors due to its good resistance to radiation damage.
